The large silver stallion paced his lands, thoughts running through his head. Much had happened in these past couple days. And now he had caught wind of an alliance that had been put in to place between his beta, Stars-Sam, and a hellion king named Corus. The thought had enraged Cadifor at first. How dare Stars-Sam accept such an offer without speaking with him first. Cadifor was a pretty reasonable stallion. Sure, he was mortal, but honestly he could handle his own in battle. No, he would not chose sides. He would defend those he loved, but there was no way he and Kanchana and their foal were going to be made in to slaves he would not stand for it.
Finally, Cadifor decided to put his foot down. He stopped pacing and screamed to the skies, calling both these hellions to him. He knew what he was going to do, the proposition he would offer.

Corus was the first to appear. His whipcord flicking in anticipation. His dark gray eyes glancing over the land, and he spotted Cadifor instantly. He stood paces away, his black body heating up as the sun shone on it. He cocked his head, staring at Cadifor, his sabered fangs sliding over his skin as his head moved. He said nothing as he stared at the stag.

Stars-Sam I reared hearing the call of my king. I would never turn my back on hand i hoped he knew that. There was a reason I accepted Corus' offer but I could not show him any friendship while Corus was here. I would explain everything, later.
"Greetings, Cadifor," I replied. There was a small amount of friendship in my voice but only Cadifor would notice it. I would not alienate him. "Corus."

Cadifor snorted as he watched Corus approach. His skin tingled with irritation as he watched the stallion just stand there. Where was his precious friend, the Grim? The large silver stallion blew through his lips in annoyance, what a waste of time this was about to be.
As Stars-Sam approached and greeted him, he noted the friendly tone in his voice and stored it in the back of his mind, trying to keep in mind that they were not enemies. But he was extremely irritated with the situation at hand and he was not about to let them both walk all over him. "I understand, Stars-Sam, that you created an alliance with Corus, here, without coming to me first? In case you have quite quickly forgotten, these are my lands, and I allowed you to reside here. I believe you both could have a bit more respect than this." He snorted in anger but he was more annoyed than anything. This was not going to turn in to a confrontation, he just would not be pushed around. Cadifor knew Stars-Sam was a hellion, as was Cadifor, but he would not be treated as if he did not matter just because of his heritage.

Corus snorted as he listened to Cadifor's words. He raised his head, his tail flicked twice as he heard the word respect. He noticed that there wasn't much of that going round at the moment. He wondered why he was here.
"Cadifor, Don't you side with Ashton? Stars-Sam is free to choose whatever side he wishes."
He scoffed, turning his back towards them. He shook himself twice, and he looked back. His gray eyes looking them both straight in the eyes. His black bodice moved, leaving behind crescent markings on the floor of the land as he left the land.
"I wont be used as a example. Do not belittle me, Cadifor. You may regret it."

The silver stallion snorted. "Perhaps many may presume I side with Ashton. However, in truth I believe he is a blind old fool. I side with no one unless they give me proper reasoning. And, if you agree not to harm my queen and our foal, then I will help you in your conquest. I only ask the safety of Kanchana and our foal. That is all. I will not stand in your way, I may perhaps fight for you, though I do not believe in fighting." Cadifor snorted and watched the two hellion stags, confidence on his features with not a trace of fear. "Belittle you? I am simply speaking that you would expect the same treatment, as well. Respect, is what creates allies, and enemies." Corus was definitely not an enemy that he wanted to have. However, he truly did not want Ashton as an enemy either. However, being on Corus's "side" seemed to be the smarter choice at this point in time.

Stars-Sam I listened to the words of the true king of the land before i said anything else to either stallion. I knew I had been out of place when I accepted Corus' offer but that did not show at the moment. There was nothing here for me to be afraid of, I knew that there was a strength in me that Cadifor had not seen yet.
My anger was not something I allowed to get the better of me for all that much time. Else I would do things that the true me would never have done.
I did not speak until Corus had left though. There was no point in showing my true side in this whole idea of Corus'.
"I am sorry for any unease I have caused you Cadifor. Should you want it, I will leave with my herd and join one of the other valley lands."[/size]

Cadifor looked to Stars-Sam and nodded. "You do not have to leave. And it is okay, I will gladly accept your apology. You are welcome here, Stars-Sam, and I hope you return the same kindness towards my family and offspring that I have shown you by allowing you and your own family to reside in my valley." He smiled at the hellion. Cadifor did not mind having him here, having him as an acquaintance or even a friend.

Stars-Sam I bowed my head sadly. I knew that I had been in the wrong but I was glad that I would not have to seek out another home. This was the one place I felt happy. Not that anyone understood that I was different to the other hellions.
"They are safe," I told him. "I would not think about harming them in any way."

Kanchana approached, her thick red winter coat shimming though the falling snow. She moved quietly, brushing against his kings side to let him know it was her. "Stallions," she said her heavily pregant sides heaving sligtly from the short distant. But she wouldn't let that stop her, she was a stubbon one.
The warm brown orbs studied each stallion in turn. The hellion king, Star-sam and her own love. Something had happened, but she wasn't sure what. But, she wasn't stupid enough to ask at the moment. Cadifor would tell her later.
