A fiery pelt stumbled across the ground as her sides heaved, taking in as much air as she could. The sides of the vixen felt so wide....like she couldn't even control them. Slender pillars carried her to the border of the land, where she had met the queen. Just because of her bloodlines, Crepusculum seemed to take a liking to her. Being part dire wolf had its advantages, she supposed. Both of their pups were due to be born soon, but her time of birthing was only hours away. Fortunately, she had enough time to make it to this safe land. Here, that bastard of a poison wolf wouldn't be able to get the pups and raise them to be insane. No, raising them would require love from her and her friends here at Africa.
"Crep, Draighean?" she called, opening her slender snout in a cry for help. Light golden eyes began to roll up into her head as she felt dizziness take hold of her. Hearing distant noises in the background, she could only feel the tension in her sides and the pangs that occurred every now and again. Laila could feel them radiate throughout her form as she fell down, gritting her teeth. Panting furiously, she saw the queen hovering over her asking something like: "narb use alnite?" but couldn't answer, as she couldn't interpret what she was saying. Instinctively, she pushed, each pup coming out one by one until there were five beside her. Licking them, she stood up with her slender form standing a bit below Crep's.
Crepusculum heard someone come into her lands, but they were pleading her name in such a familiar voice. Laila. The queen knew it, but she would make sure before she went on with her day. Nudging her king, she told him to come along as she raced over to the heavily pregnant female. "Are you alright?" she asked, but it was clear that Laila was delirious at this time. Just standing there, she waited until the fire wolf was finished. Beside her laid the oddest looking pups she had ever laid eyes one. It looked as if their father was a poison wolf. Eyes widening, she saw her opportunity.

The large male followed steadily after his queen, watching her wonderful form sway in front of him as she moved. They approached the firey female named Laila and he noticed her pain, realizing she was in labor. He stayed back, not feeling like it was his place to step in and help. He barely knew this female. Add the fact that he was a male and slighly grossed out by birth and it was a dead give-away that he shouldn't be anywhere near it.
Once she was finished, however, he approached. Draighean did not speak, but examined her pups and recognized the strange markings from a wolf he had only met in passing, a wolf who was...poisonous. A smirk settled on his features. What a wonderful asset these pups would be. And what a wonderful addition this female had turned out to be. He was doubtful, at first, but now he was glad to have her. His maroon eyes looked to his mate, waiting for her to speak once Laila was coherant.

Laila panted and slowly rose herself, fire radiating from her sun hued pelt. Glaring down at the pups, she smiled. Most forced females would resent the young ones for just being related to a monster. Maybe, it was just that motherly instinct that brought her to love them just as she loved herself. "Crepusculum," she mentioned firmly, only paying attention to her. "They are the pups of Soul Render, of the Gully," she replied with a nod. Laila stood larger than most normal fire wolves, mostly because her blood lines were not pure. Her small mother was crossed with a dire wolf, resulting in monstrous sized children. Either way, she was not nearly the size of Draighean or Crepusculum.
The oldest of her own was a cerulean blue hue with ebony tipping her harks, pillars, and skull. Golden eyes laid inside her skull, shining out intelligently. Laila was not sure what power this pup had exactly, just what her first born would be called. "Nalini," she mused, nuzzling the pup. "Like a Lotus," she remembered the meaning of her first born. The second of her children was a male, blue like the first. Unlike her, he did not seem to have an electric charge. Instead, he seemed to be a water elemental. This surprised her, yet she smiled anyway. "Your name is Loup Magique, which means Wolf Magic," she stated easily. The third born scared her just with his looks; he looked too much like his father to be normal. Poison dripped from his claws and teeth, but she convinced herself that she could raise him to be good. "Toxique is your name," she whispered, wiping out the fear from her throat. Everyone knew that his name meant toxic. Two more females were left to be named, and she knew what they would be called. Laila guessed she would have at least two young daughters, so she had thought out the names well. Fourth was a pretty ivory pup with crimson laying upon her back and beautiful blue eyes. "Saffier is your name, and it means Sapphire," she replied with a nod. Last was the smallest pup of them all, but she had an oddly mysterious aura. She looked almost like a Zelgeral horse, but wasn't that impossible. "Varda is what I call you. It means rose," she smiled down to them all. "Will you teach them?" she asked the two royals. They would do better than her, for they were the greatest fighters that the world had ever known.

The two pups yapped once each when they heard their names. It was a big world they seemed to be a part of and that frightened them for a moment. But very soon they were both trying to get to their feet, not wanting to miss out on anything.
They fell over the first time, but the second attempt was much more sucessful. Water seemed to come from the blue males paws, though he himself was not wet at all.
His sister jumped in surprise as one of the icy cold droplets splashed onto her ear from his neck. "What the?"

Laila nodded once to her queen, signaling that she was in control. If they hadn't been close friends, Crep would have told her off and reminded the fire wolf that this was her land. Instead, she made a soft growling sound and tracked off back to her own den. It appeared that they had been impregnated at nearly the same time. Luckily, the royals would have another pack to play with. Although she could not determine the size of her litter, she supposed that it was near to the size of what the crossbreed bore. As far as wolves went, they would have the most variety and strength.
Turning back to the pups, the mother sighed. Sometimes, her queen scared her, even though she gave her good protection and was her friend....unless she decided to show that she was not evil. "There is something I want you all to know," she said sternly, laying her fiery eyes upon all of them. "Your father is a terrible, killing beast that will do anything to get what he wants. I will try to mold you to be strong and caring, but you are the only ones that can determine your fates. You are no slaves to the king and queen, we are guests," she finished up her speech, looking to them for an answer. Only they could know what they wanted. Laila wouldn't stop them from meeting their father after they reached the age of a year. Their kind didn't fully mature until two years old, so they would stay under her rule during that time.
The fire fae turned to her ivory and crimson daughter and smiled happily. "Your brother has a power. He can control the water. I believe all of you have powers, and I know what they are. You must discover them, though. After that, I will train you," she said. Laila had done a study on all powers, and Crepusculum could help to train them if she believed they would be evil. The soft look that Nalini always wore told Laila that the queen would not train her. It was obvious that the blue pup had a kind heart; actually, all of them looked innocent, even Toxique. How she wished all of them would stay kind and innocent for all of their lives.

Draighean watched as Crepusculum interacted with Laila and her pups. It pleased him greatly, knowing that their pups would be cared for by her. He caught himself smiling for a moment and instantly fixed his face to be expressionless. Draighean did not prefer to show emotion, only around Crep did he trust himself to be even slightly open. His ears swiveled as he heard an approaching wolf, a male. He recognized the footsteps as the eldest of the group that had originally laid claim to this land. For a while, he had forgotten they had even existed but there was no way he would ever forget Fell. The black and tan brindle male was older than Ariana, Dakota, and Gematria, but he held a fire and spirit that made him remain the age of a youngster. Physically, he did not appear to age, either, and that had confused Draighean since he had met him.
Emerging from the brush, Fell lowered his head in respect to the king and queen. He had heard the slight commotion and his curiosity and boredom had drawn him to the action. His dark, yellow-green eyes rested on the fiery female in interest, but he did not allow her to notice his attention, quickly reverting his eyes to Crepusculum and approaching her with his head low in respect, though his tail remained in its respectable position, where he always kept it. Draighean understood Fell's authority, and he had never threatened the male over his stance. "My queen, is there anything I can do?" Fell asked gruffly, his voice clearly showing his age by the wisdom that reverberated from it's tones.

Crepusculum emerged once more stretching her uncomfortable muscles and pacing for a moment. Flicking her coarse tail, she growled an unsettling growl to herself as she sauntered over to the male. Right now, she felt out of place in her own skin, like in any moment, she was going to explode. It pissed her off to feel like this, to feel like she couldn't defend herself and would have to rely on someone else if things went wrong. Crep stared sharply at the sleek, ebony male. "Not now," she whispered harshly under her breath. "I can't be bothered with such thi-" she breathed hard, bulging sides feeling like they were about to collapse. The queen began to move off slowly but turned back at the last second. "Do whatever you want to her...talk. Just don't bother the pups. They're mine," she snarled. Finally, she left, going to give birth to her own.
Laila licked her youngest pup, the smallest female with the most intricate markings all over her bodice. They were so small and helpless, hardly being able to crawl in these early stages of life. The fire vixen touched her nose to the small wolf's form, and a purple gas rose from it. She couldn't believe that she had startled her own daughter. Her powers didn't exactly register with Laila, though. Darkness following her, purple gases rising from her? What was Varda? Laila was quite determined that she would find out.
While Laila was focusing on her youngest of the litter, a young pup the hue of the sky ambled over to the large ebony male. Nalini stumbled a bit, still not used to her small feet. She landed right before him, looking up to the sky. Storm clouds were gathering above, but she didn't pay too much attention to them. "Hi, what's your name? I'm Nalini," she smiled, plopping down easily on the African soil. The blue pup instantly took a liking to the ebony male. Maybe him and mommy could be friends she thought, looking up to him hopefully.

Fell stepped back slightly as the queen snapped at him. But he understood and did not take it personally. She was about to give birth and he expected her to be a bit...angry. Honestly, he felt bad for his king to have to put up with her attitude until she gave birth, which would hopefully be soon. The king watched as Crepusculum stalked off and he sighed as he looked at the pups around their fiery mother. He smirked. They would be his and he would raise them to be killers, to be conquerors.
The black male looked down at the small light blue pup and smiled. "Well, hello Nalini." his voice was light and quiet. "My name is Fell," he lowered his head to look evenly in to the pup's face. He nosed her gently in to the direction of her mother. "Why don't you introduce me to you mommy?" Fell suggested. His light green-yellow were dancing in a friendly way and he smiled again, softly this time.
