Name: AraAppalosa Species: Horse Colours: All Appaloosa Leopard Complex Patterns Height: 14-15hh Basic History: Spotted horses are one of the oldest breeds ever to walk the earth, and the exact date they appeared is unidentified. Spotted horses led to the development of the Arabian long ago, and the Nez Perce bred for the characteristics of Arabians in their breeding program. Middle Eastern and Egyptian art from centuries ago have spotted horses in them. The United States AraAppaloosa registry is a newer one, and it tries to get the positive characteristics from the Appaloosa and the Arabian. Habitat: They have good endurance and soundness, so they could possibly live in the desert. Quick Facts: The AAFBI was established to protect foundation bloodlines of the Nez Perce Appaloosas, and they believe that adding Arabian bloodlines to that of the Appaloosas will help to purify them and make them like the Nez Perce had.
