He walked steadily through his lands, head high with confidence, tail perked with an air of royalty. He was king, and he knew it. The stallion's silver coat glittered in the beautiful morning sunlight. It was a new day and what a wonderful way to start it off as to announce something exciting and pleasurable to not only him, but to another as well.
Cadifor could not help but worry that his mares would flee when they learned they had not been chosen. But he wished they would understand that even though he chooses a queen, it does not mean that he does not love them all equally. He knew his choice was a wise one. He just hoped the others would see it as such.
Coming to a stop at the center of his meadows, the green grass swayed all around him in the breeze, looking like a rippling green ocean. He loved these lands, his lands, and he knew he was lucky to have them.
Rearing, Cadifor kicked happily with his forelegs, his hooves slicing through the clean air. "Come to me, my loves, for I have an announcement to make." Landing with a thud, Cadifor sighed and looked around, hoping they would soon show.
My red roan coat shone as I danced towards my king, my Caddy. I giggled slightly as I saw the playful stallion. "Hello my love," I murmered and nuzzled his neck, waiting for whatever came next. Though, I knew what this was for, I just wondered who it was for.
Starlight Moon I heard his call and smiled to myself. From the waters edge I turned and cantered towards him. I knew that this was where I was needed now.I wondered what this was about, and I was curious.
I saw him and moved over and nipped him in greeting then stepped aside. "Cadifor."
i galloped towards Cadifor and stopped when i needed and stood there "i am here Cadifor"i said than stood there looking at the other mre that i did not know "i am moon dancer" i said to the red roan mare.
Cadifor looked around as his herd members approached. It was great to see the three of them together. Their playful and loving nips and nuzzles reminded him why he had chosen these three mares. So far there were only three and maybe he would keep it that way. The only reason he had to find new mares would be because his heart was so large and had room for more. He realized that neither Dancer or Starlight had met Kanchana and he felt slightly embarrassed all of a sudden.
"This is Kanchana, I apologize for you both having to meet her under such exciting circumstances. I'm sure you will become great friends,"
The large silver stallion smiled. Of course they would be great friends. He only hoped that his decision, his announcement, would not turn them sour to him or his mare of choice.
"As you all know, I have yet to choose my queen. I just want to remind you that although I will choose a queen, I love you all just the same and I hope that it does not create harsh feelings." Cadifor's stomach fluttered slightly with nervousness. He truly hoped that none of them would be disappointed over this decision, and worst of all, decide to leave because he did not choose them.
well i could be untrusting at times but who cared about that and i loved Cadifor and i had never loved another horse so dearly that if i was to leave or be kicked out it would be by force not by my own choose no matter who he chose i would stay "Cadifor you now i would never leave you for any thing and if i did it would be by force"i said too him and besides i would never leave. i jumped up and galloped around them twice than went over too Cadifor one more time before laying down i was kinder puffed from galloping here in the first place.
I nodded my head to each of the mares in turn. They were both so stunning, not even holding a candle towards me. They burned far brighter.
"Hello Moon Dancer," I said softly, extending my nose towards the fluid mare. My head turned to look at the other mare, my warm browns eyes blinked a few times as I waited for her name. "Hello," I said when she was not forthcoming.
I turned my attention back to Cadifor, my true love and waited. Wondering who would be his queen. Would it be Moon Dancer? The pretty and playful young spirit, from what I had seen. Or this other mare? The formal, but seeming kind mare.
OOC: *head desk* soz guys...just over a week at skool and im dead...
Starlight Moon I smiled at the new mare. I was the only member of the herd who had seen the sorrel stag try and take her from Cadifor. Moon Dancer had not seen that she was too busy being odd. "Hi there. I'm Starlight Moon. But people usually call me either Moon, Starlight or Star." I smiled at Kanchana. "Its a pleasure to meet you."
Cadifor looked at the three mares before him, happy that they were chatting and getting to know each other. He knew they would all become great friends. But now, it was time for the announcement. The silver stallion's stomach did a flip flop as he cleared his throat. "Well, ladies, I guess it's time for the big announcement." He paused for a moment, giving a little suspense to his words. Then he smiled and looked at Moon Dancer and then to Starlight and then back to Moon Dancer.
"The queen of my lands will be..." He stopped again, a grin on his face for he knew this would irritate each other them. "Kanchana." A big breath of air came rushing from his lungs as he said the name, relief resting over him like a comforting blanket. But now the worry set in. Who would be upset? Who would leave? He shrugged the thoughts off. He knew that these mares knew he loved them equally, no matter who was queen.
I tilted my head to the mare warmly, she seemed nice enough. Ears pricked as I waited for Cadifor to say who his queen would be. His gaze went from Starlight and Moon Dancer, but never once landed on me. I wondered if that ment I wasn't chosen. My heart gave a little leap at the thought. But I didn't care, I loved him and that was all that mattered.
"The queen of my lands will be..." He stopped again, and my heart gave a little leap. "Kanchana."
I looked the other mares, ready to say well done and I was sure they would be a good queen. But stopped. Did he say my name? "W-What?" I stuttered slightly. He had chosen me? To rule by his side.. I wondered what the others would say..
i looked at him and smiled than i looked at Kanchana as he said she will be queen. i nodded my head than looked at Kanchana and bowled to her and smiled. i did not mind that he had chosen her "wise decision Cadifor and accept that Kanchana is lead with out any fuss"i said than went off to sleep.
Cadifor smiled at Moon Dancer, glad that she accepted his decision without a problem. He looked at Kanchana with a large smile on his face and nuzzled her on the cheek very gently. Now he was just waiting on Starlight Moon to give him her opinion. She had been his first mare and by that, she had a special place in his heart and he hoped she woulod stay.
OOC: Sorry for the wait I had no muse for her for so long
Starlight Moon I thought about this for a little while. Sure this was not big deal, really. I always knew i had not a chance of getting that from him. After all, I had so much to learn about a wild life. I could accept this. Looking at both of them in turn, I bowed my head. I would no leave here, as I had promised him, there was no chance of that.
So long as I was not forgotten by him, I would remain here for the rest of time.
ooc ;; we need something exciting to happen....haha.
Prowling through the trees, a cougar slunk low to the ground, her eyes resting on the preoccupied equines grouped together. It was a small group, yes, and the silver one was the largest as far as the predator cat could tell, but she was hungry, so very hungry, and even the idea of feasting on one of them made her mouth water relentlessly. Her cubs were in a den on the opposite side of the valley, crying out from starvation, and it was all she could do to keep them alive, not even worrying about her own hunger. But now she was being driven mad by the emptiness of her stomach. She would feast today.
Seeing as they were all distracted, the cougar slunk even closer to them, her belly dragging the ground and her slow movements allowing her to camouflage perfectly with her surroundings. Once she was in leaping distance of the white mare called moon dancer, the cougar settled down on to the ground, the tip of her tail twitching in concentration.
Then, at the right moment, with a horrible yowl, the mother cat sprang from the tall grasses, claws extended, front legs outstretched, reaching to grab her first meal that she had had in a month. If only she could just get this kill....
