Sympathy & Sulfur
He wondered. He wondered like he always had, about life, and especially about destiny. What is it? Why.. Am I here? Why has all these things.. Happened? He thought for the hundredth time that month. His dark eyes searched the lands, for someone.
He found himself walking forwards, a small smile upon his lips as he remembered his love, Ceelena was pregnant. He loved her as much as it was possible, but so many things had happened in the past months. Sometimes leaving him confused, and those who he shared relationships of any kind, were severed or had grown.
His dark eyes stared at the ground as he stopped. He listened to the birds singing their songs above in the trees. His eyes looked to the distance, and then he saw a pair of gold eyes staring back. "Sulfur. It is.. Nice to see you." He spoke softly, almost whispering as he made his way towards Sulfur.
Sulfur watched back. "You have something to hide, Sympathy?" He spoke louder than Sympathy did. He had nothing to hide, he was just a wolf, wandering. He knew a mare of absolute beauty ruled the lands, he also knew his dear friend, Sympathy lived at her side within the land also. A smile appeared across his face.
Sulfur had never trusted horses. They had all back stabbed him many times, when he had tried to become friends with them. But they had always accused him of something or another. Maybe it was because he looked like a few other wolves, maybe they thought he was them.
He padded towards Sympathy also, his head raising as they came closer together. There was a large height difference between the two, it was obvious. "Sympathy.. You wonder the same question I do. Maybe.. If you come with me, we can travel together. Leave Ceelena and your unborn foal behind.. They will understand. I have no one and I am fine.."
Sympathy shook his head. "But you have always been alone. I.. Wish to remain behind. I am sorry.." He noticed Sulfur's expression change. "Are you angry, Sulfur?" He waited, looking around, wondering if Ceelena was nearby at all. He felt the sun on his dappled back and sighed.
"No. I am.. Disappointed." Sulfur sighed. "I have no one, yet I have a territory. Why..? Why must I always be so alone?" He turned, shaking his head. He knew what he was doing was leaving Sympathy with guilt, but he had never done anything for him. He walked in to the shadows, "Goodbye."
Sympathy sighed. "Why?" He cried out softly. "Why must everyone suffer in this world?" His head was lowered, and he waited. Maybe Ceelena would show up, he looked to the right and closed his eyes. "Why?" He whispered and heard a wolf howling in the distance. Sulfur.. I feel your pain of loneliness. You have my Sympathy.. He fell in to a sleep.
