The world was changing. She could feel it moving and shifting beneath her feet. A great change was coming, and it frightened her. Only slightly, though. Queen Armada feared little, but she was afraid at the current moment for the life that grew in her belly. So many were after her and after her lands. Not that she cared personally. She could take them all at one time and most likely come out the victor. But the foal that she would soon have was the greatest concern for her. Her white eyes looked around with a nervous gaze and she sighed heavily. Why she had chosen to venture out of her lands was an interesting question, one that even she did not have the answer to; but she was feeling extremely restless.
Once Armada entered Vandin, she relaxed slightly. The place was empty and she lowered her head to graze for a moment. The foal in her belly kicked and Armada gasped as a sharp pain went down her back. Then the contractions started. A feeling of dread came over her. She had not wanted to have the foal outside the protection of her lands. "Therthis..." she whispered, knowing he would not know where she was and not be able to protect her if another decided to come. She would be vulnerable for only moments but it was plenty of time for something to go terribly, terribly wrong.
With a groan, the queen lay down on her side and started heaving, trying to get the little foal out as quickly as possible. After a few moments, the foal was out but Armada was still too weak to stand. She reached her head around and started to lick the foal clean, smiling as she realized it was alive and looked healthy enough. A colt, she thought to herself, immediately thinking of the name. Venom. It seemed to suit him, for he had kept the poison of the lands away from her mind while she was carrying him. Hopefully the affect would last. With the colt being wet and Armada not being able to stand to get a proper look, it was hard to tell what he looked like, but she would know soon enough. She just hoped and prayed that nothing would happen while they were here.

She moved with a grace that none had seen from her in a few years. Though she seemed to have the grace she'd always had, now though there was nothing but misery in the mare. Her son, Spyro had left her not too long ago, and she worried that she had not taught her son enough before he left. You need to get over Amani, she thought, knowing that it was true. She was so lost and lonely without him. And yet, moving on seemed to be the wrong thing for her to do. It made no sense to her at the moment, all these mixed emotions that she was getting. Her son she knew could fly, but his wongs had to be thought into existance for him to do so. She had taught him this though. Hope was there for him though, and he would be happy now that he was on his own, to start a life of his own really. They would not likely see each other again, but she knew that if she had to, she would be able to find him again. There was no better tracker than her it seemed in the world. As she moved though, with her long wings tucked into her side, and flaming mane and tail short and not damaging anything she moved past, she wandered towards the scent of another mare. The mare though was foaling, and she gave a while before moving on into sight. - her wings are the same colour as her body, with red feathers intermixed.

Armada watched her colt with a gentle gaze, a feeling of calm overwhelming her as she was caught up in the moment. So much love was bursting inside of her that she did not feel herself. A smile was place gently on her lips, something rarely seen by others. Armada, smiling, was definitely not a normal combination.
A scent drifted to her on the breeze. It was a mare. Armada struggled slowly to her feet, a determined look on her face, and stood over her foal, her eyes glaring in the direction of the scent. After a moment, a mare appeared in the distance. The queen could see how downtrodden and sad the mare was, but that did not bother her, she felt little, if any, sympathy for others. As she approached, Armada felt her wave of warmth and kindness steadily slipping away. The need to protect her foal was far greater than her need to be making friends. "Don't come any closer, or I will kill you." The dark queen said, poison dripping from her words. Venom looked up at his mother, shocked at her tone, but he looked to the approaching mare and made a face, as if he was teaming up with his mother.

Armada should be able to tell that there was nothing wrong with Erosaf at all. "I will not hurt either of you, Armada," she called from a distance, stopping though, knowing it was the right thing to do at the moment. No point in making the other mare lash out here.
There was nothing but truth in her voice, though she knew that her unhappiness would have shown. Yet she was no killer, and she never would be. Nor would she ever seek to try and change one like Armada, who clearly was the stronger horse in that senario, unwise.

Armada sensed truth in the mare's words and relaxed, lowering her head and turning to lick her foal, showing the mare that she could approach. But if she did anything stupid, Armada would not hesitate to hurt her. "What is your name, mare?" she asked, her eyes still on her beautiful black colt. He had small, wet wings tucked at his side that looked as if they would be a dark gray color. She smiled to herself and looked in to her foal's eyes, feeling a deep sense of love and connection to the little colt already and he was only moments old.

She was a little unsure of herself as she moved towards the other mare and her foal. "I am Erosaf." A simple wanderer at the moment. This was one of the rare times that I left Snowy River Forest to head back to the place I was happiest at. The Sanctuary of the Solo. Somehow though though our paths had crossed, when I had never expected to meet someone else.
Thowra let me wander between the two places, it was something that he could not really stop me from doing, seeing as I was not his. No, I would always be Amani's though, I felt though he was completely gone from the world at the moment. He was the one I loved and I would never love another, after him. My head was low to the ground though, the horn almost touching the ground, a thing unnatural for me.

Armada turned to look at the mare after nudging her foal towards her to nurse. "It is nice to meet you, Erosaf," she said. The queen could feel the sadness radiating off of her and it made her curious as to why she was alone. "Why are you so sad?" she asked, knowing it was quite straight-forward but deciding she may as well get to the point. Armada knew she would get now answers if she did not ask the right questions.
The little colt finished nursing and started to walk towards Erosaf, his nose outstretched towards her, taking in her scent and trying to associate it with her name. She was the first horse he had met and he wasn't quite sure how to handle the situation. As he got a little more steady on his feet, he looked at his sides and started to stretch his wings, marveling at them.

"I have been alone for some time now. I used to be part of a herd, though it was only two of us really. But then he got bitten by a rabid fox."
She sighed.
"There's never been another for me these days. I just can't seem to move on, though I know he's likely gone from me forever."

When Erosaf spoke of rabies, she knew the stallion that was being talked about. Amani. Her eyes lowered to the ground for a moment and then she looked back up. She wished that she could show sympathy, compassion, understanding, but she could not. Her eyes were empty and white and would always be so. "I lost Corus. Though he seemed to be a monster, he was not, and I loved him dearly." She looked to the foal at her side and smiled faintly. He looked a lot like Therthis to her. At least she had him, while Erosaf had nothing. Perhaps she would want to come live in Inferno Plains for a while with her. They could comfort each other. But there was the problem of the poisoning lands. Armada would not put another horse through that knowingly.

"Until not a few weeks ago, I had my own son to watch over, but he has since grown up and left me to find his own way in the world. He was very much like Amani, and I will always love Spyro. Sadly he's gone now and I won't see him again for many years likely enough."
She sighed. There was not much else for her to do here in Freedoms Palace, and she knew that she was slipping always into a deep hole, her true self becoming lost in the days longsince past now.

For the first time in her life, Armada felt sympathy for another. She knew how it felt to have her young grow and leave her side, leaving her to be alone. Her glowing eyes seemed to dim a bit as she watched Erosaf, pondering whether to invite her home with her or not. It would be an odd friendship. Armada could not see herself being...normal, around this mare. No bone in her body compelled her to be rude in any way when she spoke to her. It was an odd affect that Erosaf was having on her, and she sort of liked it, which scared her even more.
"Would you like to come stay with me for a while? I would be more than willing to be here for you, and help you with whatever I can..." the suggestion was open, and Armada would not be hurt if Erosaf turned her down. She felt that they had already formed a nearly unbreakable bond simply based on the fact that they had been through the same thing. Both had offspring that left them alone, and both had mates that had gone crazy from a disease, from a poison, and passed on.

"I would like that actually, Amarda. I ahve been aloe for too long. I know the stories of your homes poisonous ways, but it will not effect me so easily." She smiled at the other mare, knowing that she would not be too much trouble for her. If she was asked to leave then she would, but only then, and without a fuss either.

Armada nodded as she heard the mare's words, trusting what she said was true. "Well then, would you like to go now? I still have to introduce Venom to my herd members." She smiled coldly down at her son and he flapped his wings slightly at his sides, smirking up at her. He was ready to meet them now and ready to show that he was the prince he should be.

"That is fine by me," she replied, smiling at them both. Perhaps this was the right thing for her to do for the meantime. Maybe as time went on, she would be able to get over Amani. She was not really able to sense the darkness in Armada that she knew was there, but then again, she knew that she would eventually.

The dark queen smiled slightly and nodded. "Guard your mind while you are in my lands, dear, for they can poison those who are weak." It was just a warning, not meant to frighten the other mare, and she hoped it would not change her mind about coming with her to her home. Venom smiled, happy that someone else would be joining him and his mother in their home. Armada turned and began walking towards the desert, her head high and her son trotting at her side to keep up with her long stride.
