( Direct link to original photo: i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv60/webweb321/horse_snow_stock_4_by_Aphoticbeauty.jpg ) Midnight Sun I tested the ice. The water had frozen; winter was truly showing itself here, in Alaknanda... The ice held. Carefully I moved across it to the island, testing each piece of ice before I stepped again. The ground was frozen, my breath rose up in a smoky cloud. There was more of it, because my breath was naturally hotter. I was, after all, part hellion. The trees had no leaves, their dark forms standing out against the white snow on the opposite bank. I let sparks flare around me, warming my coat more. I stopped near the other bank of the island, looking around myself. Hopefully, I would find another part hellion to come with me; I would like my sons and daughters to have more of the power of the hellions. But I was willing to take a normal mare as well... Though she wouldn't become my queen; that was definitely something I wouldn't do. Not that I had anything against normal mares, but my heirs would have to be stronger than others. Much stronger. And the hellion blood would give them the protection of the flames. Finally I spoke, my mane and tail turning to small flames as sparks ran along those hairs which didn't turn fully to flames. "I come seeking mares, I come to find a queen."

Honey and Spice The bucksing mare moved lithely through the snow, plowing through it with her heavy hooves. behind her trotted her champagne buckskin yearling, Spice. Somewhere unknown to her, she knew that her previous stallion, Blood Cinnamon lurked, always waiting to make her life hell again. He was a ghost who would let her live her own life. Seeing a stallion, I raised my head surrounded by its black flames and moved towards him, snorting. My daughter followed, and though she had the fire of a hellion's blood she was only half one, I being full hellion but Blood Cinnamon had not been one. Why I stooped that low I did not know, but I loved my daughter. "Hello there," I said. "I am Honey and this is my daughter, Spice." OOC: Honey: Spice:

Midnight Sun
"Greetings Honey, Spice." I said, bowing slightly, first to Honey, then to Spice, my almost red eyes flickering over their light golden bodices, the flaming mane and tail of Honey, in appreciation. They were beautiful, youngish looking and graceful.
"I am Midnight Sun. I'm partial hellion... Close to half. I figured that I may as well tell you..." I muttered, feeling slightly embarrassed at my choice of words.
"No point in asking you why you're here, since only those looking for homes or looking for others to share their homes with come here anyway... Shall I then cut to the chase and ask you if you'd like to accompany me back to Black Sands?" I continued, then waited with a mix of curiosity and trepidation for Honey's answer.

Honey and Spice Honey smiled at him. "I would be interested yes, but I must warn you. My daughter and I are haunted by a malicious ghost stallion who has the joy of killing those who we get close to. He will come to defeat you soon. Blood Cinnamon is his name and he is Spice's father. I however am not only half hellion but pure. My daughter though is a half hellion like yourself, but i am much different to the other hellions."

Midnight Sun
I smiled slightly again, thinking before I responded. "Well, I'll just have to be better than him when he comes, won't I?" I said, smiling a bit. "And anyway, I haven't been in a fight for a very long time... I could use some brushing up before all hellions break loose... Which could be soon, since Corus is so driven to kill Ashton..."

Honey I snorted. "I hear there are those who resist the idea though and remain loyal to Ashton at this point but will be pushed aside one of these days by Corus. I do not pick a side intentionally though I know that since i am a hellion I will have to fight." I sighed. "There is one trouble with that though, I will not willingly allow my daughter to fight. She is too special to me."

Midnight Sun
"I too, would remain neutral. However, I sub-herd in Black Sands, and Falcon is allied with Corus, so there's no choice for me in that matter. However, I believe that Spice may be saved from the fighting... If necessary she could join my mother in the mountains, since I'm quite sure that Kyra and Black Fire will give her a choice, no matter which side they choose to fight on, if they choose to fight at all." I said, nodding in understanding. My mother would no doubt prefer it if I stayed out of the war altogether, since I was probably the only living heir of Zeus, and also her first born. But when she knew that it was not to be the case, she would more than likely be willing to protect another if I requested it of her.
And perhaps Kyra would be the same...
"So, with that in mind, will you come with me to Black Sands?" I asked of her, my mane and tail flaring a bit brighter with curiosity.

Honey "I am glad there is somewhere she may be able to hide when it comes to a fight. I will fight if needed, but i will not allow her to partake in any of the bloodshed that will one day come. She is too precious to me, and is only half hellion, she takes after her father more than me. I will come."
I smiled. "I was always the more dominant of the herd, Blood Cinnaom let me push him around but thatw as only because he was a weak minded horse. Some how the idea of turning on Corus is one I could handle. he killed Blood Cinnomn in an indirect way."
