It was like seeing an angel walk across the earthen ground if one were to watch her as she entered this place. The quiet gurgle of the nearby river soothed her pearl white ears and her lavender colored eyes drank in the sight of lush, green grasses and the surrounding equines that were trying to find a home, or create a family. The glistening white mare yearned to have a family of her own. However, her shy personality would make it quite hard for her to find that special stallion that would sweep her away to his lands to have a foal of her own.
Her white coat glittered brilliantly in the dimming sunlight as the sun began to sink closer to the horizon. The young mare's thought wandered to what has happened to her so far. Meeting up with the gypsy mare that showed her the true way to live... Healing others, caring for them. Her heart warmed at the thought of all the lives she had touched thus far in her life. But the warmth was instantly extinguished as she remembered her lingeage, her hateful father and her murderous mother. Worse of all, her demonic brother. The white mare shook the thoughts violently from her head and stepped to the water's edge for a drink. Was she meant to be alone forever?

Therthis
The black stag approached her slowly, her pure pelt reminding him a bit of his queen, Scar. His own ebony coat was in sharp contrast to most of the mares he had met and helped, in one form or another. There was Moonslight, who was as white as snow and glittered like ice. Scar, purest ivory, with red eyes. Even his first heir was white, though he had bits of black as well. The only one he had met who wasn't so white, who he had helped was Celeste, the friend of Moonslight and Starlit. She was brown, wonderfully, wonderfully brown.
Well, he thought, smiling to himself, Maybe it's just that opposites attract. The black stag, with his ebony wings and black horn moved to her.
"Greetings, fae. I am Therthis. May I ask you what your name is?"

The mare raised her head from the shallow water and eyed the approaching black stag, taking in his horn and his wings. Had she been a judgemental mare, she qould have quite possibly turned her nose up at this stag. He appeared hellion, though it was hard to tell if he were perhaps pegasus or some sort of unicorn cross. Either way, she did not care. She was looking for company. And who knew, maybe he would be the one to wisk her away. Though she would not settle for the first brute that came her way.
She did not like revealing her name, but seeing as he had introduced himself already, she was indeed obligated to respond with her own. "My name is..." she paused for a moment. If she told this stag her name, he would most likely place her with her parents, whom she was nothing like at all. She had not had contact with her mother for months and had never spoken to her father since birth. She had just never felt comfortable with them. Oh well, better to be honest in the beginning than base everything on a lie. "My name is Shattered," she said, her head high with confidence, lavender eyes looking the stallion over carefully.

Lightly, his daggers plodded over the wet grass of Alaknanda, his slender pillars moving in a quick, forward motion. His crown raised high, he surveyed, for the slightest of movement. Many groups of horses were here. There were hellions, unicorns, and pegasus types. Kiam was none. Streaks of red and orange cluttered the sky as the sun died gradually as it did every day about this time. So many to choose from but only one to have today he thought, instantly setting his glistening orbs upon a shimmering ivory fae. Her appearance pleased his mind greatly, but this was not what he desired the most.
The sabino markings upon him stood out in the falling sun as he moved closer. "Greetings, miss. I am Kiam, king of Ciera," he said softly, his smile radiating with warmth, feeling. Even though Black Fire was beautiful and had a kind heart, he felt that he couldn't make the decision until more were with him. What a wonderful addition this fae would make. Another was with her. Only one would win. "Greetings, stag," he said, bowing slightly to the other.

Therthis
He saw her slight hesitancy but smiled as she spoke her name. "I knew you looked familiar! I couldn't place you though. Shattered, what a surprise, seeing you here. Got away from Corus huh?" the black smiled at her a bit. "Good thinking. There's no knowing what he would have done with you had you stayed. I'm glad you're away from him. You never did seem to have the same bloodlust your brother did anyways." he added, nodding to the stag that had approached as he added in the last part.
"Hello Kiam, king of Ciera." he said, a bit jokingly, but all with a tone of some respect at least. Not what most would expect from one who was speaking to a king, but enough to be polite. Therthis had never spoken to anyone with complete respect though, and he wasn't likely to start anytime soon. In fact, the only horses he spoke to with anything besides joking respect were those within his herd, or those whom he cared about. Most he considered his equals would be more likely to gain a joke and an impertinent smirk.

She was slightly intrigued by his reaction to her name. "Yes, I got away from them all. I truly have nothing in common with those...fools." she could not bring herself to speak badly about her own family, no matter how much she disliked their choice of lifestyle. Her lavender gaze turned to rest on the new stag. "Greetings, Kiam. It is a pleasure to meet both of you," her tones were pleasant, almost melodic, as she spoke and a relaxed smile settled on her features, she was content with waiting for one of the stallions to speak before she spoke again. Shattered truly did not begin conversations. She usually allowed them to be started by others.

"Shattered, I believe I've heard of you, even though I've just arrived," he said with a smile, having heard of Corus. Her father surely was a menace, but she seemed to be different. His orbs of gray revealed purity to her that would promise her a safe home. Kiam could tell she was a hellion, but she was most definitely different than most. To him, she was more beautiful than most too. He perked his harks, wondering if she'd like to hear of the place he called home.
"And, I believe you must be Therthis?" he questioned, already knowing the answer. Kiam knew that the stag was mocking him and his authority, but the new king had already heard of his games. The best way to deal with something like this was to ignore it. Therthis was the beta in Corus' lands, but Kiam had heard that he would be moving out soon.
"Would you like to hear of my lands, Shattered?" he asked softly, his tenor voice flowing legato over the words. He wanted her to love the lands as he did. Kiam hoped that she would enjoy hearing about the beautiful snowy mountains that drew him in to stay the first time he saw them.

Therthis
He nodded in understanding. "Being power-hungry and blood-thirsty is a trait most hellions have. It's too bad, really. Then there's a few like me, who happen to have a sire and a dam who are pretty much polar opposites. My dam being a unicorn, meant to heal and help, while my sire's pure hellion and has a tendency to do almost anything to get mares."
He shook his head and sighed. "I don't have much in common with my family either. 'Cept maybe Fire Fly and Xan. Mostly Fire Fly." he shrugged, then glanced over at Kiam. "Yes, I'm Therthis. You may call me anything you wish so long as it's not something that foals shouldn't hear." the black said, smirking a bit.
"Seeing as you know Inferno Plains, describing them would be pointless. However, I'm moving to Red Sun, and most of those within my herd are already headed there. It's hot and desert-like, with red sand and a white sun, though at sunset it's red. Not that that's much difference. There are some caves made of sandstone and a big oasis in the center. Somewhere around there at least. Maybe it's more northish... I'm not exaclty positive on that though."

A look of neutralism took over Kiam as Therthis spoke of his bloodlines and then asked about his. It was another thing he would do to try to mock him, but still, he was not angered by Therthis' failed attempts. The truth he would tell. "There's nothing special about my bloodlines," he said with a sigh. "As a young foal, I rain with a herd of Thoroughbreds, the fastest of all," he said, his tone brightening as he looked to Shattered. "I stayed in the region until a tragic event happened," he muttered, gloom drenching his features. "All of us were the same as I," he said, leaving the two to think.
That terribly horrible day was still vivid in his memory. The crashing waves, the screaming, the deaths. No, it would not happen again, not now. Ciera was safe from such things. Both of them, gone. Love was never gone though; he would always remember it and keep it in his heart. Some turned sour from things like that happening, but Kiam believed that he is stronger now that he lived through that tragic event.

Therthis
He considered it then smiled. "Lucky, I'd have loved to have been normal. That way I wouldn't have had to deal with Red Death, my sire. Or Exile, or his spies, or have to worry about what people will think of me if I just walk up to them." he said, then added in another sentence, with a bit of a laugh, "Not that I've really cared about that last one."
Therthis returned his gaze to Shattered though, wondering what she would say next, though Kiam had more of a chance at winning her than he did. He wouldn't mind it if she chose him. Faes tended to choose the right stag, and he wouldn't debate with her decision. Instead he sent a spark into the trees above his head. The spark hit one of the willow branches and slowly, ever so slowly, a bulge began to grow at the tip of the slender wood. Within minutes it weighed enough to lower the branch to Shattered's eye level, fully formed into an apple-like fruit, nice and red. However, it had the shape of a pear.
The black, winged stag looked at it with interest. "Huh... I think I've made another hybrid accidentally. Ah well, pears and apples both taste good, so this can't be terrible, can it?" he said, smiling a bit at the fae.

Shattered was overwhelmed for a moment as she listened to both stags speaking. Therthis seemed more playful and joking while Kiam seemed more serious and kind. When asked about lands, Shattered simply shook her head. "No, I have no interest in lands. I love every place on this earth. I want to hear about you, what makes you who you are." she looked back and forth between both stags, hoping they grasped her concept. She was not interested in the prettiest lands or who had a queen and who did not, even though it would be nice to be queen. Shattered was interested in who she was compatible with, who she would enjoy spending her days with. Her lavender eyes locked on to the hybrid fruit that hung in front o fher snout. For a moment she was hesitant but she reached forward and took a bit. "Not bad," she said and smiled at Therthis.

Kiam shook his crown slightly. "Exile is quite a pain, so I've heard" he said, thinking back to what he'd heard of Exile. "Don't worry, many make judgments of me too at first glance. They think I'm weak," he replied, repeating what he'd heard from lots of other stallions had said about him to his face. It didn't anger him; he just took it as their opinion.
The new king nodded, ready to speak about himself. "There are several things that make me different than others. I don't like to fight at all, but I will protect my herd if they need me. I love young ones and mares, and I'm trying to make my alliances as fast as possible to protect my family, when I get one. I'd be loyal...and kind to you, of course," he said softly, wondering if he needed to say more. "There's nothing much that I have except my adoration and protection," he said, finalizing his words.
Kiam hoped that he would be chosen, but he would not mind if Therthis was. Even though their personalities were different, he rather liked him. An alliance would have to be made.

Therthis
He sighed, glad that the fruit hadn't tasted terrible. "Good. One time I made one that tasted like... Well, let's just say it wasn't terribly appetizing." the black waited as Kiam spoke then began his own.
"Well, I'm hellion and unicorn, but you already know that. I'm technically considered a forcer, but I've never done so without asking the fae first, and if she says no, I leave her without even so much as touching her. The only one I've forced asked me to do so, because her king wouldn't give her a foal from him."
"I like the desert, but the ocean intrigues me beyond all doubt. I do have bloodlust, but I'm more interested in fighting a fair battle than torture. Unless it's torture with words. Denying an enemy what they most wish to know happens to be something I can hardly ever resist doing. It's a quirk I guess. Hellion blood dictates torture, unicorn blood happens to dictate information, and the two happened to mix rather nicely in that case.
"I have a tendency to show only as much respect as is absolutely necessary, and the rest must be earned. The only people I taunt are those who I think are worth taunting. Namely, equals. Although, admittedly, I never do that to those within my herd, nor any faes." then he turned his head to look at Kiam. "exile may be a pain for most, but he's more so for me. He drove my former queen insane and she tried killing me, convinced that I was him. I wound up having to... Destroy her." my voice had cracked. I hated that when it happened. But oh! I missed her so! She had been lovely, the most perfect part of my life! She had been red and gold, with white splashes across her body. She was entirely normal and wonderful to me. She had not cared that I was different, but had been glad and happy as she ran next to me! She had borne for me three foals, three lovely heirs. Only one had been a colt, but neither of us had cared, for all were strong. She had been wonderful... And I had killed her...

Kiam's orbs filled with sympathy for Therthis; it seemed as if they had one key thing in common, the loss of their queens. He sighed, knowing he would tell his story to both Therthis and Shattered. "I lost my first love too," he said softly, beginning to pace but he stopped himself. This tale was always agonizing to tell, and sometimes it brought tears to his eyes. Only an embarrassment it would be if that happened at Alaknanda though. His head dropped as he began.
"I lived by the ocean, where the waves crashed against the shore so fiercely every morning and night. I had a young colt and queen, the loves of my life at the time. They were my world, my light," he explained, his words rising and falling like the ocean waves themselves. "I warned him over and over not to go too far, but he did. The waves swept him away, and he drowned. My queen....she was smart, and cared for her foal. I told her not to go after him, but she did. She died as well on that terrible day," he said, finishing his life story.
Oh, how he had loved them. If only he could find that love again! He had partly, in Black Fire and her foal that would soon be on this earth, but he longed for another companion. Kiam hung his crown in sorrow. Never had he told the full story to anyone so vividly. It was not as bad as Therthis' though. He wouldn't have enough courage and strength to kill his beloved queen. Many would consider it a crime, but it must have had to be done, or he wouldn't have done it. His heart longed for another, another like her.

As Shattered listened to Their descriptions, and heart-wrenching stories, she wondered just how two wonderful stallions could find themselves so unlucky. She was born in to her present strife, with parents of pure evil that she despised more than any other being on the planet. However, she had worked to overcome her heritage, and it had led her here. Everything must happen for a reason, lest it would not happen. A sympathetic, yet not pitying, smile settled on her delicate lips. "I am sorry to hear about your losses. Everything must happen for a reason, no matter how idiotic that may seem at the time." Her lavender eyes settled on Kiam as she slowly mulled over what she should say about her own self.
"I am the daughter of Corus and Armada. Full hellion blood runs through my veins, though the thought of being a hellion disgusts me. I grew up wandering with a gypsy mare who believed in nothing more than being one with the earth and being at peace with all beings. I have not spoken to my mother since I left her side and I have never said a word to my father my entire life. I have a twin brother, Trainwreck, who is full of hatred and misery. Hopefully I never cross paths with him, as he has always held a certain interest in torturing me.
"I have never been in love, and I honestly am afraid to find that one who will steal my heart. However," she paused and looked from Therthis to Kiam, her eyes resting on Kiam for a moment longer, "if it were to happen, I would not fight it," Shattered gave them a small smile, wondering if she had spoken in a confusing manner, for her words had felt jumbled and rushed. She hoped they would understand what she was saying, though, and she trusted that they would.
