Therthis
The black smiled. "She seems to cause trouble with everyone. Strange, isn't it? I'm not even sure if she wants to simply finish a fight or if she's interested in something else. Always hard to tell with her. Harder when you don't know if she comes as friend or foe." the stag flicked his harks around a bit as she circled him, her pelt brushing against his.
But when she spoke her next words, to Xanerath, he shrugged slightly. Why wasn't it surprising that the grey fae seemed to prefer Xan? Perhaps because as of yet, all but a few in his herd were white? It was as if faes of white were drawn to him like water was drawn to the ground.

Xanerath
I shifted slightly as she walked in front of me, my forest green eyes watching her with interest. "Herds often change, mind. In some time, perhaps it will be Therthis with but a few, and me with many. After all, at one time, Therthis had only Scar, his queen, while at that time, I had seven. Nothing is permanent in this world, Caligo."
It was a slight reminder to her, but gentle. The tables had turned in time, and in time I had no doubt that they would turn again. Which direction, I did not know but I had not a doubt that it would occur once more.

Caligo nodded at Therthis's words, finding them slightly funny. Armada was indeed a different sort of mare, one that she had never seen duplicated. As Xanerath spoke, she shrugged. "Perhaps in the time your herd grows, I will work on my communication skills," Why did he not just accept her? Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly. Was she making the wrong decision in choosing him? He did not seem as determined as his older brother, but for some reason that was slightly alluring to her. She wanted to know more about him, more about his personality and his family. She wanted to meet his queen and find out if she compared, or possibly beat out the competition. Nothing was ever permanent, correct? Caligo smirked. She would win, in one way or another. ooc ;; this is what happened when i get in too many threads at one time. Haha.

(Err... At the beginning, you say it's Armada. At the end, you say it's Caligo. Care to fix that?)

Therthis
The black stag, the older of the two, saw where this was headed, even before his younger brother opened his maw to respond to Caligo. With a bow, he turned and left, spreading his black wings, taking off into the air. Better to leave while you can still catch yourself as you fall, he thought sagely, and with a final pass, he winged away to another part of Alaknanda, hoping to have better luck there.

I blinked a bit in the wind that Therthis' wings created, then smiled a bit. "That is true. Would you like to test that theory, mi'lady, and come with me?" I asked of her. A somewhat more subtle way of speaking than Therthis had I, for I was more used to talking with them. After all, in the herd of my Father, Red Death, I was two years younger or more than most of the colts. The others were all far younger than I was. So, since I fit in with neither the older nor the newer colts in the herd, I had played with the fillies. There had been only one other colt my age.
And he had died the week after we were both born.
Well, now wasn't the time for reflections. Now was the time to await young Caligo's answer to my question.
Always the time for waiting, within Alaknanda...

Caligo watched wistfully as Therthis flew off at her words. She knew why he had left. Why stick around when she had obviously already made her decision? The beautiful mare turned her confident gaze to Xanerath and stepped towards his, running her nose gently along his cheek to the top of his neck at the base of his throat. "Of course I will come with you, sire," she said in a slightly seductive voice. She would take a shot at the position of queen when the time came, but for now, she needed to win Xanerath's heart, and possibly become a future mother of his offspring.

Xanerath
My green eyes flickered up to her's, a smile on my face. "Then we'd best go. It is a two day travel from here. And I'd much rather set a leisurely pace tomorrow than have to go at the grueling run all day. Much better to get a head start, no?" I said, nuzzling her neck gently.
"This way, Caligo. Just follow the rising sun." and with a click of my hooves, I cantered off towards Red Sun, my home, my land, and, of course, my herd.
