Tiana liked the fact that there were so many around. "That is good," she said lightly. "The more that are in a herd, the more eyes the land has to watch it and to guard it," she said, knowing that she would even fight if she had to. Her mother always said that she was too bold, too bright. Monila had said before that Tiana had much to learn, a lot to learn. The young one didn't deny this, but time would be her teacher, not someone else. "I have nothing against hellions. My mother, on the other hand, doesn't seem to like them," she said, looking questioningly over to the other painted mare.
Possibly, Monila would be angered at her for pointing out one of her flaws. Although, her mother didn't think it was a flaw to not like hellions just because of who they were. It seemed as you got older, your mind became more closed to new things. Tiana was so young, it seemed compared to these stags. Cadifor was the one she had her heart set on, but what if her mother liked him too? She knew that Monila wouldn't fight her. Tiana knew that her mother would give her top priority. She didn't like that all the time though.
-------------
Monila smiled to both of them and chuckled at her young daughter's words. "Watch yourself, Tiana," she said, glaring at her suspiciously. Her mother could see it in Tiana, the joy that she was getting from speaking to Cadifor. Oh, how could she part with the only love that she had for the last two years. Her only daughter, leaving? How could it be? The older fae blinked quickly, hoping the tears wouldn't come, and they did not. Now was a time for happiness, for freedom.
"That sounds absolutely perfect!" she said, knowing that she was the most excited that she had been in years. The soft, cool waters would be perfect for her young one, who would be named whatever came to her mind when she saw their gorgeous faces. Her eyes shone brightly. "How are they, Blood Valentine and Dark Sunrise? Are they well and kind?" she asked, a smile upon her features. She would be going to Vernien En Seere, but she still needed to answer her question of who.

"I have not seen Valentine in a while. I am not sure where in the land she actually is, or whether she is even still mine at the moment," Sigaf admitted. He knew he was not the best of horses to be around these days. There was not much he could offer, unlike Sorrel. Sorrel had seen so many things, and there was no comparison really.
"When I first met Dark Sunrise, she was not the easiest of horses to get used to. She had a darker nature than she has now. I can't see the old her in her anymore. There is another in my herd, Lila is her name. She is different to Dark Sunrise, being covered in black and white stripes. She is also unable to see. Once I had to fight the very stallion who did that to her, and he is certainly no more. I can not stand horses who do such things."

Cadifor was slightly surprised that Tiana seemed so knowledgeable. He admired her smarts, and also the young mare's mother, for teaching Tiana what she knew obviously. When Tiana said that Monila did not like hellions, Cadifor was slightly taken aback. However, he knew every one had their own reasons for not liking others. He wanted to interact with Monila, as well, no matter how much Tiana had captivated his interest. Perhaps he could have mother and daughter return with him, as to not separate the pair. Cadifor knew this would not be a likely possibility, but it would be worth a shot. Having only Tiana would be plenty for him, he was quite certain. ooc ;; sorry, i have no muse and im tired.

Tiana bowed to Cadifor one time, her silken neck dropping down, as if she was about to graze. Contentedly, she moved over to Sigaf, knowing that her mother would want to speak to Cadifor for a moment at least before making a final decision. The young fae knew who she wanted to choose already, but it looked like her mother hadn't yet chosen. Already, she was looking forward to walking home with Cadifor, the wonderful king. Maybe she was being naive again though. Should that much thought go into this? She would ponder it after talking to Sorrel and Sigaf.
"Greetings, Sorrel and Sigaf," she said, bowing to them a small bit before raising her delicate head to eye level. "I am Tiana, the youngest of us all," she said, with a small chuckle. "I am an adult now, as of just a week," she said, thinking of it just being official. Confidence ran through her veins as she spoke, knowing that they would want to tell her more. "I like those who are playful but can be serious if it's needed. That's pretty much what I'm looking for, and a beautiful home," she said softly, knowing she wouldn't want to live in a swamp or desert.
----------
Monila smiled to them both as her daughter walked over. "It is a shame that she has not been around. I hope you see her soon, Sigaf," she said softly, sincerely hoping that his dreams for his love to come back came true. Before she knew it, it was time to talk with Cadifor, the king from Faoi Thionchar. She nodded to him, looking to him easily. She had no special abilities, just her wisdom that she had gained over time. Soon, a second of hers would be born, and she would teach her to be wise. She would do a better job with this foal.
"Hello, Cadifor. How are you?" she asked, knowing his response would be positive. Really, many of them had problems going on in their lives, within them. It was good in some ways not to burden others with self problems. Sometimes hiding such things was bad though, if it directly effected those that heard the atrocious lie. He seemed like he was prospering in Faoi Thionchar, seeing as he was healthy and fit. That was one good thing to know; the nutritional value of the lands. Lightly, she smiled, waiting for him to speak.

He smiled at Tiana, knowing she wanted to speak with the other stallions to finalize her decision. That was understandable. No matter how much he wanted the young mare to come with him, he wanted her to make sure she was choosing the right home. his kind brown eyes turned to Monila as she spoke to him. He smiled. "I am quite well, Monila. How about yourself?" It was just small talk but you had to start somewhere. His gaze turned momentarily to Sigaf and Sorrel, slightly nervous that perhaps Tiana would change her mind and not walk to his lands with him. The thought of that possibility saddened him but at least the young mare would be happy and he could count on her making the proper decision for her own happiness.

Sorrel knew upon hearing the youngest of the mares words, that he would not be the one for her. Sigaf and Cadifor had a better chance there for her at the moment. He was energetic yes, but playing was not something he did all the time any more. He was growing older and more serious by the day, and while he did not really care of such things, he knew that she would. “All that you seek we all can offer you, however when it comes to fun and games, I am not as well suited as Sigaf and Cadifor are.” Always, this stallion was honest, there was no point in lying or any of those other things at the moment. He saw no need for such things when it came to talking to mares. Nor was he a fighter.
Sigaf laughed. “You're not much older than I am, Sorrel and yet you say such things? Thanks a lot.” yes he was deifinately more playful when it came to things like this. “Carefree and energetic I am, but those who run with me also get a loving home and a stallion that can sometimes be serious, if there is a need.”

Tiana smiled to them both, knowing surely that Sorrel was not the one for her. Still, so pleased was she with the king that she bowed to him a final time before turning to Sigaf. Maybe, that was what she liked the most about Sorrel, his honesty. He would have been perfect, but he was lacking the most important thing to her. It was true, he was older and such a gentleman. Honestly, she knew to herself that he held nothing against her for thinking the way that she did. She was young, so she wanted young love, right? Hopefully, that was it.
"Are there enemies that you personally have? Like Therthis fights Exile all the time. Thowra fights Blade all the time. You have an arch nemesis?" she asked, relaxed. From Cadifor, she had found that he hadn't. The last thing she wanted was to be in the middle of social affairs. The valley was appealing to her more and more every second, but a deep longing for an ocean setting was still in her mind. "And, I know that you all are allied with Ashton. My mother knows that you both are kind," she said with a small smile.
-------------
Monila smiled bitter sweetly, knowing that this stallion had not felt her pain yet. Maybe he felt it when his only daughter, Omeya, went with Fantasma to Forest of Mysteries. It was no doubt that she would be one of his prized mares. Who knew, perhaps she would be a queen, like her mother before her. "I am fine," she said softly, looking back to her daughter interacting with the two stallions. "It's so hard to see her go," she suddenly said, changing the mood of everything. Tiana wouldn't hear what her mother was saying.
"I mean - you're a great stallion, a great king. I would want her to go not another place than yours. The final goodbye is always the hardest. You will be good for her," she said, not yet knowing if she would go with her daughter or choose Sigaf or Sorrel. There were so many choices, and one appealed to her currently. Tiana still needs me she thought with sorrow. No, she doesn't she thought, and this thought bothered her even more.

"At this stage I have not," Sigaf replied. "I know of those you speak of and hope that such things never shall come to hassle me at the moment. Life on the coast is too good for things like that to come to it. Then again no one knows what will happen in the future."
He smiled though, knowing that Sorrel and the young fae both knew they were not for each other. No, Sorrel had more chance with the older one, she had seemed drawn to him, that was certain.

The young painted fae smiled to the handsome older stag happily. "That is good, Sigaf. Those kind of rivalries are always quite dangerous," she said with a sigh, seeing most of the ones they had passed play out in her mind. There was only one left when the fight was over. Sometimes it was the good horse, but most of the time it was the evil one. "No family around here?" she asked, knowing that she would have been lost without her mother when she had just turned two years of age. Now, she was almost three. Tiana didn't know though.
Some were floaters, as Tiana called them. Really, they were referred to them as wanderers, but the term 'floaters' sounded better to her. They never spent any time with anyone, unless it was their mate who also wandered and young ones. Tiana had seen a wandering wolf pack on her travels through the lands. Monila knew their names, but she did not. When she saw them, there were seven pups, but one looked very weak. The smallest of them had a twisted leg, and Tiana was sure the puppy was dead by now.

"Nay, I have no family here. I try not to get involved in such conflicts, though seeing as Sorrel has an alliance with Thowra at the moment, then so do I as i am in his land. Were I to choose someone like Exile.."
"I'd kick you out," Sorrel finished for him. "No one who has alliances with evil hellions like that one belong in my land. They're trouble makers, nothing more than that."
"At least you know i would not," Sigaf replied. "Vernien En Seere is too peaceful a place for me to want to leave, my king."
The stallions both laughed there. they knew that they had been teasing each other, though Sorrel had been telling him the truth. He likely would kick any out who dared ally themselves to the evil hellions.

Suddenly, they backed a few steps, looking all three of the stags head on. Their decision had been made; it was final. Truly, they would know the character of the one that had not been chosen. The characters of the ones that they had chosen would not be known until the ventured within the lands. "We have come to a conclusion," said the mother, her eyes soft with wisdom. It was nearing her time of foaling, and anyone could tell it from her looks. Rather, she looked sickly and weak.
First the older mare spoke, looking to all three equally for a moment. None of them would know until the moment she spoke her words of truth and of future love. "My foal shall have a home that is kind and gentle. Both Sorrel and Sigaf can give me that, but I have decided that I will be a part of Sorrel's herd," she said, nodding to the younger stag in respect. For a reaction, Monila would look. If he gave none, his dignity would remain intact.
"Thank you Sigaf and Cadifor for your time," Monila said finally, finishing her words. To Sorrel she walked, her sides heaving with the kicking and thrashing of the young one who would soon be. She let the young fae, soon to be an adult walk up to them. She smiled a gentle smile as she thought. They were both so kind, but she thought she had made the right choice.
------------------
Tiana smiled a little more, keeping her gaze on the silver stallion who had captured her heart from the beginning. "My choice has not changed," she said softly, trotting to Cadifor to nuzzle his chin. "I have decided to live in Faoi Thionchar with Cadifor," she said with delight, looking back to Sigaf, the stag who had no more for himself, not today.
The bay painted young fae bowed to him. "I am sure you will find more to join you, Sigaf," she said, looking back to Cadifor graciously. "Thank you for offering me such a good home," she cooed, looking to the setting sun in the distance. Today was a day to take time, to feel the love radiating all around them. It was certainty a day she and her mother would never forget.

The silver stallion followed Monila's gaze to Tiana conversing with Sorrel and Sigaf. He saw the pain in her gaze, the fear of losing her precious daughter. He understood that greatly. When she spoke, Cadifor could hear her stress, her hurt. "My first and only daughter, Omeya, was stolen from me by a neighboring stallion. Well, I consider her stolen. I wasn't even there to say goodbye."
The pain in his eyes was clearly evident as he spoke, his voice wavering slightly. Cadifor felt as if he had not been there for her enough. In truth, he hadn't. Being a king had consumed almost all of his time, leaving very little for his family. But now, he realized that he had taken his position too seriously and it was time to relax and make time for those things. Perhaps he would travel to Fantasma's land and visit his daughter, to make sure she was being cared for properly. "Though it is hard for you to trust me completely, I would take wonderful care of your daughter. I treat all of my mares equally, and I love them all equally. She would be more than welcome by my family." At this point, Cadifor realized it would be pointless to sell him self to Monila. If she wanted to come, she was welcome and he knew that she knew that.
When mother and daughter stepped back to view all three stallions, Cadifor could not help but notice Monila looked strangly sick and weak. It worried him, and he wondered if perhaps he should say something before they went their separate ways. As Monila chose Sorrel, he had to admit he was slightly disappointed, but his disappointment disappeared as Tiana said his name and his land. He smiled and nuzzled her neck under his chin, seeing as he was larger than she. "A good home you will get," he said, grinning and his large brown eyes dancing happily.
He reveled in the love he felt between them for a moment before stepping back and winking at her, and then turning to walk closer to Monila. He touched his nose to her cheek, thanking her for trusting him with her daughter. Then, with eyes full of caring and concern, he gently asked "Are you going to be okay?" He knew the stress and pain of losing a daughter, and could see it wearing her thin. Cadifor wanted Monila to be happy for her daughter, and to be healthy and give birth to another beautiful foal.

Sorrel smiled as the two faes made their decision about who they would go with. he was saddened though, it seemed Sigaf never could get the mares that he wanted. Maybe he would have to help him next time, instead of being another opponant here at the river.
"I welcome you then, Monila. And I hope your daughter is forever happy and safe in Faoi Thronchai," the stallion said.

Monila shuddered a little as Cadifor turned to her. He had seemed to catch her off guard in her time of pain. "Yes," she muttered. "My foal is nearly here though, and the birthing pains have arrived," she said, knowing that no stag could possibly understand what she was going through at this moment. Tiana had been smaller than most foals, but this young one was very big. Monila had underestimated the size of the stag that had forced her. He had to be at least eighteen hands tall!
With a glance to her daughter, she nodded, nuzzling her shoulder gently. "It is time. Goodbye, my daughter," she said, moving to Sorrel. "Let us go, Sorrel," she said, looking around happily. "We shall take no heed to the wind!" said Monila, beginning to hop along to the territory. It was as fast as she could go, considering the young one that she carried within. Hopefully, he would not run ahead but stay be her painted sides.
---------
Her young smile seemed almost luminescent during the daylight hours, her youth shining through to him. Cadifor seemed a little disappointed that Tiana's mother hadn't chosen him, but she would be happy where she was. They would remain great friends throughout the years, Tiana knew. The fae's time was short though since twelve years had she already endured. In less than ten, she would be gone, gone like the dust during a storm. Tiana's eyes were filled with conflict for a moment or too, but it was replaced with joy as soon as she thought of Cadifor again.
Tiana nudged his neck gently with her muzzle, enjoying every thrill that the stag brought to her heart. Never had she felt so alive! Never had she felt so grown up. Today, she felt like she knew all, but there was still much to learn. Even Tiana knew that her mother had guided her too much through life. She would be okay, she knew, with someone like Cadifor. "There is a reason I chose you, and it was not just because you had a light and free heart. I chose you for many other reasons...like your kindness, your strength, your courage to try new things," she said, thinking of when she could tell that he did not like speaking of himself.
"Still, even if you're not perfect all the time, you're the only one I would want to be with. I know that for sure," she said, leaving him free to succeed and fail. Leaving him to decide for himself and not keep his thoughts and dreams away from reality. Forgetting a dream or ambition was like throwing away life to the young fae. Tiana would not throw away hers. "That is why I am going with you, Cadifor," she smiled, bowing to him a final time before beginning to make her way to Faoi Thionchar, where she would dwell in an endless jovial paradise forever more.
