It is also called the Gala and the Oromo horse. Originally, this breed descended from Ethiopia, but it began to spread down the coast of Red Sea. It is found in a variety of places, including Sudan. This breed of horse was first imported into England in the year of 1861. There are many variations of genes in this horse, so most of the horses initially bred had green eyes. Fanciers of this breed in England attempted to improve the rosette pattern on this horse. They found it difficult, though because of the many directions that the hair grew. Habitat: This light bodied horse was bred for work in the mountains, but it was used in nearly every habitat. Quick Facts: The Abyssinian horse is a willing and easy to get along with horse.
