Basic History: An Anglo Arab is a cross between an Arabian and a Thoroughbred. It can be a cross between an Anglo Arabian and a Thoroughbred too. France was one of the greatest producers of Anglo Arabians. The French Anglo Arab traced mainly back to two stallions: Massound, who was an Arabian and Aslam, who was a Turkish Horse. They were imported from Syria and crossed with English Thoroughbreds. The French breeding program, "The Pompadour National Arab Stud" influenced the making of the Selle Francais.
Habitat: These horses inherit speed from their Thoroughbred relatives and good endurance from their Arabian relatives. They could easily live in the desert or mountains, where endurance and speed are needed to get around.
Quick Facts: They display a larger Arabian type conformation. They are a high energy breed and are intelligent.
