The fae pushed into her kings side, staring at the four approaching figures. Each, so alike and yet so very different.
Show them respect...she chanted into her head and bowed her head to them slightly. "Greetings, I am Kanchana, queen of these lands," she said, rising her head and nodded to each in turn and expecting the same in return. Respect. It played a key role in the young faes life. "Cén fáth a bhfuil níos mó anois ná dhá?" she murmered to her mate.
Cadifor watched as his lover introduced herself to the four canines. Each of them nodded their heads in return to her display of respect, except for Dakota. The black female just sat and stared at Kanchana as if she were bored with the whole meeting. Dakota shook her head and turned away, now looking off in to the distance.
Fell stepped forward when he heard the queen speak in his native tongue. He and Cadifor had been raised in the same land, they spoke the same language, that is how they became such close friends. That, and the fact that their histories and fates were entangled from the moment they were born. "Phioc muid suas cúpla loners a bhí ag lorg cinniúint," Fell said, dipping his head. The other three wolves did not understand this tongue and just listened to the strange words in silence.
"An é seo trí tú ceart go leor, a ghrá? Ní raibh a fhios agam go raibh níos mó, ach an oiread. Tá mé cinnte nach mbeadh sé dochar ar bith a dhéanamh." Cadifor nuzzled his queen, hoping she would accept the other two wolves, for he already knew they were staying.
The eyes flutted closed in suprise, another that could speak her lanuage. "Tá mo leithscéal mactíre; ní raibh a fhios agam gur labhair tú mo theanga dúchais," she spoke softly, gently even and bowed her head slightly in return. Her warm eyes flickered to Cadifor and her red roan head nodded slightly. "Is féidir leat fanacht, ach táim á rá leat anois ... Ghortaigh tú mo cheann de chineál nach mian leo dochar a dhéanamh linn agus beidh tú a dhíbir, " she said, meeting the gaze of the large wolf. ""Cé, ná súil agam nach mbeidh sé tagtha chun go mbeidh ..." she said a slight smile upon her maw.
Fell met her gaze in return and listened to his musical language flow from her mouth. He nodded in understanding, knowing that his friends would not harm anyone or thing, and nothing would be killed without necessity. Eating being a necessity. He smiled and looked to Cadifor, waiting for him to speak. "Well then, it is settled. You may stay, but you know the rules...and the consequences." His brown gaze turned to Dakota, figuring she would be the one to be the most likely to break these rules. He turned at once to Kanchana and smiled, thanking her silently and lovingly for allowing these wolves, and his old friend, to stay.
