Sorrel I trotted through the land, my brown body seemed to shine though it was only because of the sweat from the unnaturally hot day it was today.
Lying down I rolled for a bit and then started to graze. Would anything happen interesting today?

The zebra mare, unfazed by the heat, trotted through the lands, her shimmering pelt naturally shiny. Her audits moved continuously, flicking back and forth as if listening to the wind. She smiled as she scented Sorreal's earthy scent on the breeze, and she followed it, finding him grazing on the lush grass. She joined him, lipping up the grass. She flicked her head free of the flies, snorting till they left her alone.

Sorrel I smiled as I saw one of my mares coming towards me. My first mare, Lila. Though she was not my queen, she would always have a special place in my heart. That much would always be certain for me.
"Hello Lila," I said, tugging her mane gently.

Lila looked up to Sorrell, smiling in his direction. She was forever grateful to him, he had saved her life. She lipped his mane, opening her lips to say; "Hello, Sorrell." She held back a giggle, not really knowing the reason why she was laughing. She lipped his mane again, a sign of her affection, and sighed, a sigh mingled with many things, content, longing, love, pain, longing again, but she turned her head to Sorrel and smiled.

Sorrel I smiled at her. "How have you been Lila?" There was nothing but joy in my voice though as I said it. I was glad she was still mine. Nero had been such a bully but I had won him from her, not to mention rid her of a threat she would ahve had a long time in the making had I not killed him.
It was not like me to fight to kill but sometimes that happened. My grand sire had been a hell horse so there was that same blood lust in me, it was a rare sight though.

Lila smiled still, expression exultant. She let out a musical whicker as she spoke. "I'm fine, as of you?" She flicked her large audits, her mind working at a way to ask Sorrel, it was a sensitive subject for her. How could she? No. She thought to herself, Do you want to grow old with no children? That was what she was worried about, she was nervous to ask Sorrel for a foal. She shuffled her large, black hooves, she looked to the ground, her smile fading. She couldn't ask. No, wouldn't was a more appropriate word. She refused to force this on him. Why would he want to, anyway. She was just some zebra mare that had been burdened on him. For a moment, all her old insecurities resurfaced again, and she really and truly hated herself.

Sorrel My eyes missed little when it came to Lila. Much less than she likely thought I missed when it came to her. "Lila, is there something you wanted?"
I could tell she was avoiding asking about something. "Any thing you want I will give you." It was the truth I would do anything for the others of my herd. I was still growing and developing, my appearence was starting to change a little. Wings were starting to form but not those of a pegusas, though that shape they were, they were made of flames.

Lila looked up to Sorrel, a slight frown flickered on her face, before falling on her fine features, weighing them down. She opened her lips to speak, but closed them again, trying to find a right way to say the words that desperatley wanted to be spoken. "I...." She began, pausing to swallow deeply. "I want... to ask for..." She closed her eyes. "A foal, please?" She gazed up toward where she hoped his eyes were, the emotion in her face was amazing, hope like she had never felt before. For a moment, she wished she could see his expression, but then, she decided against it. What if he were angry? Like Nero was when she asked him that first time? She lowered her skull a little, waiting, just in case he was angry. Although, she knew inside her that he wouldn't be, it was just a lingering habit. A lingering habit that terrified her.

Sorrel I smiled down at her. There was nothing I wanted more. Though our foal would not grow up to be the leader of the land, that right was that of any foal Drak Sunrise and I had, the foal would be loved just as much. I knew that.
I thought for a second. Then in that same happy voice I replied, " There was nothing to be worried about Lila, I would be honoured." I usually was as gentle as I could be with her. I hated the memories of nero's treatment of her.

Lila's expression turned from a frown to a smile, her lips played upward and she blinked, unnesicarily. She tilted her skull, her audits perked forward as she considered, for a breif moment, the answer she had just recieved. It had not been angry. It had not been answered with pain. And most importantly, the answer had been yes. She smiled wider, her bodice relaxed. She realised at once that she could trust Sorrel, the first equine she had ever trusted. Her tail whipped from side to side as she began to speak. "Thank you." Her words were sincere, and she wished she could see him, so that she could give him a sincere look. She reached her muzzle toward him, breathing soft, hot air onto his muzzle as she nudged him.

Sorrel I smiled and rested my head on her wither. "Did you honestly think I was going to say no?" I asked her gently. "I never say no unless some foolish stallion wants to take one of my family from me."
If it was her, or Sunrise I would likely kill the offending stallion. I would likely not allow that to happen.

Lila lowered her skull as Sorrel lay his head on her withers. A hint of pink lighted her cheeks as she considered the question. She didn't asnwer, her harks flickered back into her mane and she looked away from him. "Its not that I thought you would say no.." She began. "I just didn't think you... would..." She didn't know how to finish, her face flickered back to a frown while she struggled to find the right words. She looked at him and gave him a disparing smile, blinking slightly. She knew what the reason was, she was scared. Nero had said yes, but he had hurt her, he had been angry. She lipped at his mane, flaring her teardrops.

Sorrel
"When I claimed this land I wanted it to be a place where everyone got along. That meant that no one is allowed to be mean to anyone. Mares are meant to be safe and happy here. That means that no matter what someone asks of me, whether, blind, deaf or not, I would do as they asked. Even let them leave if need be, though I hope that you and Sunrise never leave."

Lila smiled as he spoke, blinking slowly. She was calm now, her pose relaxed, her voice was calmer when it emerged from her lips. "I'm not leaving anytime soon, I promise." She nudged his neck, flicking her large audits forward. She whickered gently, flicking her odd tail against her legs. She loved Sorrel, not in the way a mated pair did, but in a special way that she was sure he did too. Her lashed touched apon her cheeks as she blinked, gazing off into the distance, although she could see nothing, she could sense that it had become a little more cloudy, the tempriture cooling a little. She hoped that it wouldn't rain, she was enjoying the nice weather too much.
