Cirrus Cinnamon Wasn't hard for the tiny grey Shetland mare to spot the massive black stallion who was king of all the lands. Her stallion. Though there was a massive difference in size for them, she knew that this was where she belonged. Everything was so peaceful in Woodrow Cove, but she knew now, that she had to leave for a while.
She moved away from the herd a bit. She would not leave the land, it was too big a world for her and for someone so small, it would be easy for her to get lost in the lands outside the terra. Finding somewhere quiet though, she lied down, knowing her foal was coming, but not what to do... All she knew was that it would be almost as big as her, she was so fat...

The tall well built stallion watched over his lands, sensing not all was well. Cirrus, he guessed from watching the large, wobbling fae with worry. He guessed it was time, and he could not help but worry for her.
Trotting down the hillside, his eyes stayed trained on the spot he had last seen her. Sniffing the air with his soft nose, he knew he was heading in the right direction and slowly poked his head though some trees to spot the small fae laying down and breathing heavily on her side. "Cirrus..." he murmered and took a step closer.

She snorted as she saw him poke his head through. "I don't know what to do." That was all she could say. Plus the foal was going to be too big to her anyway. She was too small for such a thing. Its father was twice the size of her. And its father was a tame horse. She herself had been a tame one until a few weeks ago. The other mares at the stud she escaped from had always had humans to help them get their foals out. She had no one.

"Do not be scared...You have me," he said softly, nudging her stomach gently with his black nose. He had helped mares before, his queen being the first and he smiled fondly at the memory and how scared he had been at the time. Now, he was used to it, or at least as used to it as a stallion could be. He dropped beside her, his legs folded underneith him as he nuzzled her neck. "Just do what feels natural, and know that nothing will go wrong," he told her

She shuddered as she felt the foal kicking at her. She knew that this was going to be harder for her. All the others were always covered by Shetlands, or their own breeds. No she was the one who was bred to someone outside her breed much bigger than her. She struggled though to do what he told her. It was no easy job, and concentrating was difficult. Eventually, after a rather long time, though only really a few minutes, her foal was out. The colt seeemd a mixture of herself and the stallion. He had her build, so he was more Shetland than Welsh Mountain pony, but his body was dark grey and white. She knew he would end up black and white. The colour of his father. Though the only white on the stallion had been on his legs and head. She remembered him only too well.

Ashton murmered to her gently, trying to help her the best he could. The gentle stallion eyed the colt, knowing he would raise him as he would his own. "Well done love," he said to the fae who was stil panting on the ground "he will grow up big and strong." He smiled slightly, clambering to his feet and looked down at the fae. "What shall you name him?" he asked

"Not as big as you, I hope," she said. She smiled at him though, getting onto her feet uneasily. That had been hard for her, but she knew that he was there to help her with the colt. It would not be easy for them at all, seeing as Ashton was not her son's father, but she knew it was not really anything that mattered to Ashton. He had taken her in and she knew he would not mind having the colt either.
"Fortuna," she replied. "It means Luck." For she was lucky to have survived getting the massive looking colt out from her. The colt would grow up knowing his mother. "The Shetland mare I used to know, back when I was in the care of men, died when she tried to get her foal out. She too was covered by one twice her size and the foal proved too difficult for her to live on afterwards."

He nodded his head wisely and smiled lightly. "The luck of the wild dear Cirrus," he said gently and nuzzled her. "Rest, have something to eat and drink and I shall look over him for the time being," he told her, settling on his side once more and kept a watchful eye on the colt. It was good seeing something so full of life once more, after all the death and tragic things which had recently passed. It was good to know he had been born into a safer world.

She nodded, moving to graze for a moment. She was not far from the river and soon she came back, lowering her head with her eyes shut. She was so tired at the moment.
The foal watched his mother with wide eyes, taking in everything around him, including the massive black stallion. "Father?" he asked. Was this stallion his father?

Ashton could not help but smile to himself as he watched the colt, the perfect little colt before him. His eyes were wide, taking in everything he could at once and asked Ashton a question. Was this his father? Ashton slowly nodded, knowing there would be questions in later times, but for now he was his father and would also be. You see, Ashton believed that a father was the one who was their for you. The one who taught you the wonders of the world. "Yes Fortuna, I am your father," he said gently, nuzzling the colt.
