Finding who you are in a difficult situation - not always the easiest thing to do. Some struggled for years and years to find themselves; some didn't recognize it at all until it was too late. Shattered seemed to know herself very well, especially well to have seen this in herself from birth. Not following influence, it's one of the hardest things to do he thought with a small smile in her direction. Only preservation and determination brought such results. The sabino watched as her orbs of light purple stayed upon him as she paused for a brief moment. Understanding was what he was silently saying to her, letting her know that he was with her so far.
As she went into more detail, Kiam kept his attention on her and only her; now was not the time to be distracted. Corus and Armada were the most evil hellions probably in the entire set of lands, but there were things that he always liked to remember. "In all evil, there is always some good. Recognizing love when it comes to you is the hardest part of life, to me. It's what everyone wants; some days it's the best thing in the world. Some days it's hard but definitely worth it," he said, his storm hued eyes falling upon hers as he smiled softly.
Kiam could tell that she was wondering if they had understood. The stag couldn't tell if Therthis did, but he understood everything so perfectly. It was crystal clear to him. For the first time, it seemed as if things might work out. The king looked into her orbs of lavender, wondering still. It was never a competition but a perfect match. It was always her decision, never his. Certain things he hoped, but nothing was he set on.

Therthis
The black nodded a bit, knowing some of what Shattered had gone through in Inferno Plains. Trainwreck had always been one of his least favorite horses in the Plains, beside Exile's group of ill-wishers. Yet he disagreed strongly with what Kiam had said, and shook his head a bit after the other stag had spoken. "There are those who cannot find it in themselves to have any pity. There are those who would find enjoyment in every bit of evil done, and are so beyond anything good and green that they have forgotten goodness, or never knew it to begin with. Exile, Corus, Hades... Blade. Hades may have had a bit of good in him, but he lost it. Corus never possessed enough to care for anyone in his herd, treating even his queen with little respect. Blade tortures any who don't agree with him... And Exile..."
The stag sighed, then shook his head. "Exile may have once had a little bit of something else in him, but goodness... I wouldn't have called it that... Not even his favorite mare, strangely, not his queen, disagreed... Some in this world are good, some are evil... There are some, yes, who are between the two, but in order for there to be a middle ground, there have to be extremes."
But then he returned his gaze to the young fae before him, and nodded again. "We have, all three, said what we can. I have told you what you asked to know, as has Kiam. You have told us of yourself, and neither of us has left. But we, we cannot make the decision for you. It is yours, and yours alone, Shattered. I leave it you to decide. Whichever you choose, you will be welcomed. BUt make sure that you choose rightly."

Kiam wasn't including those in his small speech; he wasn't naive. He knew the world and knew who and what was in it. It wasn't always safe, but it was always beautiful. In that comment, he was referring to groups of horses, not individuals. Things were different with every herd; there was always that one colt or filly that didn't think like the rest. It made them feel out of place, made them feel like they were at deficit. "Even though it is not shown, it's still there. They don't know it...or they don't wish to be good. Of course, they do have emotions, other than hatred, but maybe not love," he said, knowing this to be a fact.
Some hellions lied. They were emotionless to everyone but themselves. That's the only reason they weren't insane; they allowed themselves to be open to themselves and feel. It was true; there were those that were entirely insane, and there were those that 'acted' like they didn't care. Kiam didn't know though. Therthis had been around them more than him, so maybe they really didn't have emotion within.
The sabino stag sighed, knowing that their conversation had ended, and now it was the time of her choosing. He nodded to both Therthis and Shattered, slightly nervous, like he had been no other time. Perhaps she would go with him to live a more simple life without worry. Maybe she would go with Therthis, who sounded like a good stallion for her to choose too. Whichever choice she made, Kiam was sure it would be the right one.

Shattered listened to Kiam and Therthis go back and forth in conversation for a short moment. There was good in everyone, she believed, it just depended on how well you hid it. The white mare sighed deeply as the conversation drew to a close and Therthis said it was time to choose. They were both great stallions. She wished she could just have them both! However, Shattered knew who she would be most compatible with. Therthis was a great stallion, full of wit and energy. Kiam was equally as great, being very level-headed and polite. She blew air between her lips and looked to the sky for a moment. She knew her mother would prefer she choose Therthis but she wasn't here to decide for her.
Stepping forward, she put her head up a little higher, her lavendar eyes looking back and forth between the two handsome stags. "You are both great stallions." She smiled, for she was being nothing but honest. "There are different qualities about you both that I see in myself and things we have in common. However," the mare paused for a moment and blinked a few slow times. "I can only go with one of you. And I believe that stallion will be Kiam." Shattered stepped forward and gently touched her nose to Therthis's. "You are a great stallion, and you will make any mare extremely happy. But I think I would get left behind in all your energy." She chuckled a bit, locking eyes with him for a moment before backing away and looking to Kiam, waiting for either of them to react.

Therthis
The black stag bowed to them both and smiled. "You have chosen well, I think. I wish both of you luck and happiness." he said, not a hint of sadness on his black face, though he was a bit melancholy. He liked Shattered, but mares usually chose well. "Take good care of her, Kiam, and don't let some overblown hellion take her from you."
Then stag turned and walked away, a small smile still on his lips. He would find others for sure, and Shattered would probably be happy in Kiam's land.

Very different and the same we are at the same time thought Kiam as he looked to Therthis and back to Shattered. She was pondering who, he could tell. The king thought about who she would choose, but the answer in his mind was uncertain. It wasn't about who was good and who was not, like it usually was or who would provide the most protection. Either one of them could have done that.
Suddenly, he snapped back to reality as she spoke, her sweet lyrics filling the air around her with mystery. The decision had been made, but who? That would be known momentarily. The seconds felt like days as he waited, waited anxiously. The anxiety flowed away from him as she spoke his name. He walked up, his daggers moving slowly upon the ground at he came to her. He smiled, and his eyes shown with joy, the most joy he had felt in a while.
The king could think of no sorrow other than the thought that Therthis might be in sorrow. Kiam brushed his soft nose across her cheek gently, happily. "Shall we go, Shattered?" he asked softly, already wanting to go back to the lands that he loved. He looked to her, his features filled with admiration and adoration. Kiam would make sure that his other mare treated her with the respect that she deserved too. Of course, he knew Black Fire would. She was a very kind mare.

For a moment, Shattered felt slightly ashamed that she had not chosen the retreating stallion. But then her mind turned back to Kiam and she smiled. Her choice had been made and she knew it was right. As the white hellion mare stepped closer to Kiam, she felt so much joy spreading through her heart that she thought she would burst. When the handsome stallion brushed her cheek, Shattered considered herself lucky that she did not fall over from happiness.
When Kiam said to her about leaving, she faltered slightly. She had not even asked where his lands were. Not that it mattered, she was happy just to be with him. "Yes, let's go," she said, returning his gentle nuzzle and smiling. ooc ;; sorry, i lost my internet again. =[ i hate living in the middle of no where.

The light bay stag nodded as she spoke her words. On the way, he would tell her a little about his lands; he'd show her his beautiful homeland once they had arrived. Sweetly, he looked to her. "I am of Ciera, a mountain land," Kiam explained with a pause afterward. "The tops of the mountains are always snow capped, but at this time of the year, the temperature at the bottom is glorious," he said looking to the direction that they were. On his way here, he'd been able to see the mountains, the closest to Alaknanda. "I'm sure you'll love it there," he said finally with a small smile.
Kiam began to move toward the downward hills which led out of the river area as it began to rain again. The king perked his small, sharp harks to the sound of splashing water droplets on the river. They would have to go opposite of the the current to get to the mountains. Water always went down, and the mountains were most certainty not down. Kiam stopped at the turn and waited for her to come. Shattered was his newest love, his newest friend, and he would not lose her.

She watched as he made his way in what she assumed was the direction of his lands. A pleasant smile was settled on her features, showing that she was quite happy with her current situation, despite that journey that could be ahead of her. She did not know how far the land was from here, nor did she mind. Her demeanor would remain pleasant, for she was spending time with Kiam, to get to know him better, even though she already knew she loved him.
When they approached the water, she was slightly hesitant, wondering if they would be swimming; she was not a very good swimmer. She did not question the stallion, however, trusting that he would keep her safe.
ooc ;; post in Kiam's lands now?
