Jalie
I shook my wet coat with a yip. The water was frighteningly cold. My fur was shaggy with the leftover moisture, but I knew it'd dry soon enough in the sun.
I had come straight from Bimbisaar, determined to find a wolf of the valley lands to join.
Being in Alaknanda might not be the best place for me to find one, but it was the first place mother had suggested to go to, and I respected Snow Dawn greatly, although I didn't particularly like the idea of wandering all my life, as she did.
My white coat, only slightly different from my mother's dawn tinted fur, glowed in the warm spring sun as I trotted through the trees, my paws feeling both still-melting snow as well as muddy patches and new blades of grass sticking up.
The island in the river had taken longer to thaw than any other place I had seen. It was late in the spring-time, and soon enough it would be summer, the glorious days of warmth and sweet winds. The days of thunder storms and nights of perfect bliss.

Soul Render A snarl was a common sight on his grey maw, as he traced the path he always took through the river with padded grey feet. Not one other wolf had he seen for a while and he longed to have another in his pack, causing chaos like he did for Blade. Then this white ang grey wolf with the wierd green markings on his body stopped, catching the scent of another wolf. not only that, but a she-wolf. This was not something he expected and he ran towards the smell, green orbs eager in the drakness. He stopped near her. "Greetings."

I flicked my ears towards his voice with the speed of the hunter. My head snapped around, my hackles raised. Then I lowered them some, seeing that it was another wolf. A brute.
"Greetings, I am Jalie," I responded, wagging my tail and standing up, regarding him with interest.
He was tri-colored, not unlike my youngest sister, Fosca, who had died half a year ago. Yet his coloration differed greatly from her's. Instead of the familiar brown, he had strange, bright green markings. So bright were they that they almost hurt my eyes. His muzzle and chest, belly, were all grey, while the rest of his fit body was pure, snowy white.
Like mine.
His eyes were the same almost blindingly bright shade of green. My dark blue eyes watched him with growing interest. His markings were intriguing, and I couldn't help but take them in, though they hurt my eyes as I did so.
"I suppose I should inform you, wolf, that I don't wish to call my home anyplace except for a valley."

He nodded as he heard the name. Then he listened to her other words. "Well, Jalie, I am Soul Render of Misty Mountains, the valley terra owned by Blade." He was in luck there. His home was a valley though it had a few mountains and things in it. Though he could tell that she was almost blinded by his marks. "I am no ordinary wolf though, miss."

I laughed a bit, then shook my head. "No wolf is normal, Soul Render. My fifth sibling, younger than me by a mere pawful of breathes, is deaf. My seventh sibling was lame, and died. My first sibling is able to beat all five others in games of wit and ability, while I am more than capable of finding loopholes, as well as making them."
I grinned at him, wagging my tail slowly. "So tell me, does any of that seem distinctly normal, as it would happen upon any and all wolves? I think not, for each has their way of using their abilities to their supreme advantage, to give them a rewarding hunt."

"No none of those are normal.. I though, am a poison wolf. should I want it, my claws will send poison out into whatever they touch, as do my teeth. Mayne wolves have fallen to me, without suspecting that I am one of those rare poison wolves." He sighed. "Sometimes i cannot control it either."

I laughed, coming close enough to lick his face a bit with the very tip of my tongue. "That is not so different. It just means you have an advantage that most do not. The form the advantage takes matters not in the fight of the pack, for each will contribute something. I contribute mind and instinct. My sisters and brothers would contribute speed, strength, pure cunning, luck, and a talent for disabling prey. Your gift is able to disable and kill the prey. The challenge, then, would be if you were to lose the ability, for you cannot be sure how well you would hunt without it until you have lost it."
I sat down, placing my head under his, my pure, snowy fur brushing against his.

"I have hunted many times without it, so I am adept in hunting like any normal wolf actually." He chuckled. Oh he'd thought of such things before. Though he'd hate to lose the gift, he would be able to survive well enough without. "I come from lands a long way from here. I was the Alpha of a pack but then a forest fire claimed everyone else. I managed to get away. So'd one other, whom I wanted for my mate but she escaped me." He sighed. "I live now in Misty Mountains."

"I grew up wandering between lands, and spent time during my younger year in the place called The Rim of Heaven. That is where my youngest sister died, and where many of my brothers and sisters, as well as I, grew up."
I shrugged, then placed my head under his chin. "Can I see Misty Mountains then? I've always loved seeing the valley-lands."

"You may come and see my land. I have never really been one for the lands such as the one you mentioned. Stallion there is not very likeable really. I am a valley wolf, and nothing else will make me want to leave where is my home now." He chuckled though. "Come then."
