Name: Albanian Species Horse Colours: Black, Chestnut, Gray, Bay Height: 12.1-14.2hh Basic History: The Albanian horse was made during the reign of the Ottoman Empire in the country of Albania. Quite a bit of Arabian blood went to produce this horse, along with some Tarpan, Turkmene, and Mongolian Stock Horse blood. There has been a great increase of these horses in 1980, and there were specialized breeding centers to increase the local stock. Over the years, these horses were crossed with Arabian, Nonius, and Haflinger horses to make them taller and more hardy. Habitat: They live the best on both the plains and the mountains. Quick Facts: They are extremely strong for their size. They have an easily ridden gait, making them exceptional endurance horses.
